“The Four Horsemen of Industrial Revelation” is a wonderful work by sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor, based in London! Taylor had the idea to position them in such a way that they could be visible for up to two hours on each side of the River Thames when there was a tide. The artist’s purpose was for people when they see the works to think about climate change and “maybe something will be done to deal with it”.
The sculptures include two prosperous businessmen and two children, which symbolize the future generation that will face ecological disaster. Everyone sits on horses whose heads look like oil pumps.
The environment, our home, is worth a chance! Humanity deserves it and we must give it!
