In 1994, in a small narrow street at Zan Moreas Street in Koukaki, Athens, begins a story of people which until now is transformed and constantly evolving. The name of the bar couldn’t be other than: “Dolls”! Stories of men, trans people going on stage doing a drag show.
People who have received the critical eye of society go on stage and travel us to another world: in a world without taboos, without shame, without fear of what everyone is. Pictures and voices of well-known singers such as Melina Mercouri, Aliki Vougiouklaki, Anna Vissi, Nana Mouskouri, Milva and Lisa Minelli come to life on stage.
They prove from the first moment that Art knows no separations. In this club, not only gay men have fun. In this place, not only members of the LGBTQ + community or activist community are entertained, but also straight couples. Among them, the lens of history recorded celebrities such as Malvina Karali, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Tania Tsanaklidou…
It is the place where besides the show, the song, the dance and the uplifting of the imagination and the fun, the scenes of Panos Koutra’s drama “Strella” were filmed, in which Mina Orfanou was honored by the award of Greek Film Academy with first prize for female role!
