The Biertan community in Romania is well known for its central church, which was built in the 15th century.

Inside the church there is a room in which when a couple wanted to get a divorce, they had to stay in it for two to six weeks. The room had one single bed, one chair, one table, one plate and one spoon.
After staying in this room, the couple revised their decision for divorce, seeing that they preferred to be together eventually and not separately.
The truth is that for 300 years there has been only one divorce!
Today this room has been turned into a museum.
